My Own Home: A

Our Roots

My Own Home is the continuation of a community building legacy. The Vatterott family began building homes in the late 1940s to supply the much-needed demand for the returning GI’S back from World War Two. Their initial construction concentrated on the city of St Ann Missouri. Now some great grandchildren of the man who Built St. Ann have started this grassroots community renewal project. Motivated by a sense of duty these Vatterott decedents wish to shoulder the mission of finding homes in St Ann to rehabilitate and return the community to the homeowner rather than the renter. The plan is simple find foreclosed properties, condemned properties and community nuisance properties for repair and redevelopment. Then through community partnerships we will find qualified families who want to work to make their communities flourish. We want to find homes for people who will be community members and invest themselves into the neighborhoods they live in rather than being a transient inhabit of a house.  Here at My Own Home, we know that all it takes to change the world is support from someone like you. We are determined to make an impact in St. Ann and beyond. The core of our efforts is to bring our fresh ideas, passion, and a more human touch to community revitalization. Through all our endeavors we hope to earn your trust and confidence as we work together for a brighter tomorrow.
